クリスマスの時期になると、アイオワやミネソタにいた頃を思い出します。 11月の感謝祭（Thanksgiving）が終わる頃、クリスマスのデコレーションで雪に覆われた街がキラキラと輝き、優しい気持ちでいっぱいになるこの時期が大好きです♡
多くの人がクリスマス休暇を取り、家族や友人が集まり、豪華な食事が用意されプレゼント交換をして過ごします。 会えない場合はカードを送りクリスマスのお祝の言葉や、感謝の気持ちや愛の気持ちを伝える人も多いようです。
私が学生の頃は「Merry Christmas!」と声を掛け合っていましたが、元々キリスト教の行事なので相手の宗教のことを考慮して「Happy Holidays!」という言い方に近年変わってきています。
