Scary, right? A long time ago, European people traditionally carved turnips and other vegetables, rather than pumpkins, to ward off evil spirits on the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows\’ Day.

Fortunately jack-o\’-lanterns are a lot friendlier nowadays, and Halloween is of course a lot more commercial and fun-filled than spiritual. Any excuse for a party!

Trick or treat!

On 31st October, kids in America and other parts of the world knock on your door wearing spooky costumes and shout \”Trick or treat!\” You\’d better give them some good sweets and snacks or you will suffer their wrath!
