Hello everyone.

Have you watched the movie Kingsman? If then you might be aware of the famous dialogue

\”Manners Maketh Man\”. This quote was first written by William Horman(1440-1535).He was the headmaster at Eton School in England and he also taught at Winchestor School that is also in England.

What does it mean?

Maketh means \”makes\”, this type of writing was commonly used by Shakespeare, if you are a Shakespeare fan then you may know \”thou art\” which is \”you are\”. Good manners, being polite to others make us good human beings. And man here does not only mean men but it means all human beings.

It also tells us that we human beings have the ability to think, act, response, talk and make others happy.Meeting a salesman at a shop with good manners will make your day and even if you do not want to buy that product you might think of buying or going to that shop again because of his manners? Good manners also shape your personality, character, makes you a better person, makes one civilized.

Living in Japan also teaches you about having good manners. From a shopkeeper to a banker, department store staff to publc servants, you will find people smiling at you for no reason and that really makes you happy. Indeed, manners maketh man !
